NEW PLATE DESIGN: On May 1, 2025 The Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles will begin replacing all existing Chickadee plates with a new design.

Please note that using this service will NOT renew your current registration.
You will need to use Rapid Renewal or visit a town office to renew your registration.

How this impacts you: If you choose not to reserve your existing plate number you will receive a new plate with a number issued by the BMV. The "No Tree" plate design only available for PC class code.

Who can use this service

  • All registrants with a Chickadee plate, even registrants from towns that do not participate in Rapid Renewal.
  • Registrants who have moved or need to update their address from a prior reservation.

What you will need

  • Your CURRENT vehicle registration (Data must be entered accurately)
