This online service allows you to request an open burning permit from 9am - Midnight, 7 days a week

Who Can Use this Service?

Individuals seeking to conduct open burning of piles or broadcast (area) burns up to 10 acres.
As of October 2023, permits are required for all fires greater than 3'x3', regardless of whether they were previously considered "recreational".

Who Cannot Use this Service?

Individuals conducting broadcast (area) burns greater than 10 acres.
Individuals who have been blocked by a Town Warden or Forest Ranger.

What you will need

The physical address where the burn will occur and material being burned.
A printed copy of the permit, or the ability to show it on a mobile device.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
