New Renewal or Replacement
- If you wish to renew a Commercial Driver's License or a REAL ID credential, or wish to obtain a REAL ID credential for the first time, please visit a Bureau of Motor Vehicles location.
- If you are a non-citizen, please visit a Bureau of Motor Vehicles location.
- If you are renewing a driver's license and are age 40 or over, visit https://www.maine.gov/sos/bmv/licenses/vision.html to determine whether you may need an eye examination.
- If you need your license or ID card shipped to an address outside the United States or an APO or FPO address, please contact the Bureau of Motor Vehicles at 207-624-9000 x 52114 between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Eastern Time to ensure your shipping address is captured correctly.
